The official website of the Russian single-board computer project Repka Pi

Repka Pi is designed and produced
in Russia. It is aimed at everyone
who uses single-board computers in projects and education, such as Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi, Banana Pi, Rock Pi, Radxa, etc.

It is a Russian alternative to Raspberry Pi single-board computers, made in an identical form factor (including dimensions, port locations, mounting holes and the 40-pin header pinout). At the same time, Repka Pi is equipped with higher-performance DDR RAM rather than LPDDR like its analogues, which delivers performance 15-20% higher than similar models (Raspberry Pi and others).

Repka Pi is a domestically developed single-board computer with 100% localised manufacturing, using components from mainland China. With Repka Pi you get direct supply from Russia without intermediaries, warranty cover, service, replacement and repair options, adaptation for your tasks and the required consultations.

Our electronics assembly plant also accepts orders for contract assembly.

Detailed technical information about Repka Pi

This computer is the size of a bank card, and its price is correspondingly modest. How budget system, it is ideal for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • teaching children and adults the basics of computer science;
  • management of the operation of various systems and devices, including business equipment, systems information, data collection and transmission systems in which Repka Pi can be placed as embedded computer;
  • presence as the main intelligent module in systems such as “Smart Home”, in solutions IoT and IIoT;
  • Control systems for robots and robotic systems;
  • acting as a server for collecting and processing data, file and torrent systems in cases where a relatively small server is required in terms of physical size, memory and power;
  • and much more.

There are a huge number of different tasks for which a small-sized and sufficiently productive silent computer with low power consumption.

The computer connector, completely similar to the Raspberry Pi 3/4/5 GPIO 40 pin, has two operating modes - mode Full compatibility with Raspberry Pi and native IO mode. Detailed information is provided in the section below about connecting peripheral devices.

Repka Pi runs its own operating system Repka OS, implemented on the basis ported Ubuntu operating system. The operating system includes a convenient desktop, browser, tools for viewing images and videos, an IDE for developing and running Python programs, and a control panel. Single board computers of domestic production.

Repka Pi 5

Repka Pi 5 Repka Pi 5 was designed as a more productive model in the Repka Pi line for tasks demanding computing resources, multimedia and connecting external peripherals.

Key improvements to Repka Pi 5 are the Rockchip RK3588 hardware platform, increased RAM capacity and expanded multimedia capabilities. In addition to the usual GPIO, USB, HDMI, Ethernet, PCIe and eMMC interfaces, the board received DSI and CSI, allowing you to directly connect displays and cameras. This makes Repka Pi 5 a good solution for computer vision, interactive terminals, multimedia complexes and modern embedded systems.
Repka Pi 5

Repka Pi 4 Optimal

Repka Pi 4 The next model, Repka Pi 4, was accordingly designed as an alternative to the Raspberry Pi 4. Suitable for those who have resource-demanding tasks! Repka Pi 4 is more productive, with additional interfaces. Also, expansion modules from Raspberry Pi 5 are suitable for this Repka Pi model, such as a PCIe adapter for connecting NVMe SSDs. Repka Pi 4

Repka Pi 3

Repka Pi 3 top view The Russian single-board computer Repka Pi 3 was conceived and developed as a full-featured alternative to the Western Raspberry Pi 3. Accordingly, Repka Pi 3 is made in a fully identical Raspberry Pi form factor, including overall dimensions, interface placement, mounting hole positions and GPIO header pinout. At the same time, Repka Pi 3 delivers performance 10-15% higher than Raspberry Pi 3.

This gives Repka Pi 3 every reason to interest anyone who uses or planned to use Raspberry Pi.

RepkaOS for Repka Pi 3

The firmware allows, if necessary, to change the current version of the kernel (Kernel Linux) for your tasks - to change the kernel version (Kernel Linux) you need to use the utility repka-config.
List of available kernel versions:

  • Kernel-1 5.19.16-sunxi64
  • Kernel-2 6.1.11-sunxi64
  • Kernel-3 6.1.11-rt7-sunxi64 (with PREEMPT_RT patch) more details

The PCB version is indicated on the packaging of each device. All devices are divided into two categories: with active cooling (with a fan) or with passive cooling (without fan). For each category there is a corresponding firmware version, which is indicated in table.

It is recommended to install the firmware version that matches your device. For example, for Repka Pi 3 in a case with PCB version 1.5, firmware from version 4 is suitable options in the table (“Firmware version: 1.4 and 1.5” and “Maximum processor frequency: for versions without active cooling").

If you need to change the device configuration, use the utility repka-config. To select the PCB version, go to the "8 Board Options" section, "B1 Board" Version". To set the cooling type, use the "4 Performance Options" section, item "P3 Cooling".

You can learn more about how to write an OS image to an SD card from articles in RepkaBlog, which describes the procedure for getting started with Repka.

      Kernel version (Kernel Linux) with Real Time patch for working on systems real time

      This version of the kernel (Kernel Linux) with the RT patch (it is often referred to as RT-patch or as linux-rt patch or as PREEMPT_RT or simply Real Time patch Linux Kernel) for Repka OS adds functions to ensure real-time execution of tasks. The regular Linux kernel is not designed to run in real time, so RT-patch is used for this purpose. Overall, RT-patch allows Linux to be used in real-time systems that require fast and accurate execution of tasks. The operation of this version of the kernel (Kernel Linux) allows you to minimize delays and ensure minimal response time for your tasks; for this purpose, RT-patch includes additional functions, such as scheduling tasks in real time, setting task priorities and increasing the frequency of calling the scheduler - you will need to configure this optimally for your task yourself. This kernel (Kernel Linux) already has version 6 (6.1.11-rt7), which allows you to further optimize the operation of the task manager and due to this further reduces processor heating by 5% or even more. If you need to achieve full operation without additional cooling, we recommend setting the processor frequency to 1.2 or 1.0 GHz in the repka-config utility. Installing and configuring RT-patch can be quite a task, and using it can lead to poor performance during normal operation - that's why we've made it a separate kernel (Kernel Linux). For industrial work, you can disable all graphics and the window manager using commands

      Switching between launch modes

      Setting the OS startup mode without a graphical environment:
      sudo systemctl set-default multi-user.target
      Setting the OS launch mode with a graphical environment:
      sudo systemctl set-default graphical.target
      Check current mode:
      sudo systemctl get-default
      In non-GUI mode, the system consumes 130-140 MB of RAM.
      Important!!!! Those. there is no need to remove the graphical environment or install distributions without GUI, since you can always switch between modes as you wish.
      A detailed description of the operation and an example of application with comparative tests will be described in detail in an article on RepkaBlog.
